THE GRANDE-PLACE 

Since the Complexe opened, the Grande-Place has successfully fulfilled the mandate it was given at the outset, namely to provide Montrealers with a welcoming place to gather and host activities of all kinds, always free of charge. The large-scale, high-quality events organized here have made a significant contribution to the renown of Complexe Desjardins.

The Grande-Place is…

• An extensive 15,000-square foot space in the heart of the building, featuring a splendid central fountain
• An extraordinary and unique window for event organizers. Its size makes it possible to stage spectacular displays, sets and decors.   
  
  

  Surface area	:	15,000 square feet (approx.)
  Height from floor to ceiling	:	80 feet (approx.)
  Capacity	:	800 people seated (approx.) 5,000 people standing (approx.)

• A program providing more than 200 socio-cultural, commercial, corporate, promotional and educational activities each year.
• A site for large-scale events and internationally renowned festivals such as: Montréal International Jazz Festival, World Film Festival, FrancoFolies of Montréal, the opening cocktail party for many international conferences, etc. 
• Six weeks of ongoing operations during the holiday season, with a grandiose winter setting where the “real Santa Claus” reigns. The children’s theatre and many other activities made it THE IDEAL PLACE to take children before Christmas.
• Space made available to charitable organizations for fundraising or awareness-raising campaigns.
