  • Every day, almost 37,000 people circulate through Complexe Desjardins.
  • Of that number, 10,000 work for the various businesses that lease space in the building.
  • Most office space is taken up by various provincial ministries, Desjardins Group entities and private companies.
  • Average traffic in the neighbourhood (Place des Arts – Palais des Congrès – Théâtre du Nouveau-Monde, etc.) amounts to 136,000 individuals per week (2006 figures).
  • The average traffic for the two metro stations that connect to the Complexe is 124,615 people per week (STM, 2006).

  • 55.5% attended university;
  • 95.7% speak French.

Residential Area


  • 30,470 people, in some 18,170 households;
  • Mostly aged between 25 and 54 years;
  • Average income of $41,600;
  • 59% are single;
  • Mainly families with no children;
  • A high percentage of renters.
