The multifunctional Complexe, inaugurated in 1976, has aged well. Over the past 30 years, a strict regimen of preventive maintenance on the building and its components has helped minimize the impact of the passage of time on this jewel of Montréal architecture.

In addition, since the early 1990s, investments amounting to some $65 million were made to upgrade various aspects of the building, including, among other things:

Installation of a new fire-alarm system, modernisation of vertical transport equipment, reconstruction of the underground parking, roof replacement, renovations of the elevator halls and washrooms and, finally, replacement of the major electromechanical components (water towers, cooling systems, humidifiers and others). 

 

Go Green Building Certification

Complexe Desjardins is one of the first buildings to have obtained, in 2005, the GO GREEN certification. GO GREEN is a program managed by the Building Owners and Managers Association, BOMA QUÉBEC, which recognizes the owner/manager’s concrete commitment to operating an environmentally-friendly building.

The program of major investments in electromechanical building equipment adopted by Desjrdins Gestion immobilière in 2004 fits in perfectly with the GO GREEN program, since it includes a series of measures aimed at increasing our energy efficiency.
